Janice Arlene Breidinger, daughter of Wayne and Irma (Waggoner) Pickering, was born on February 6, 1934, in Spencer, Iowa. She received her early education in Rossie and graduated from Rossie-Greenville High School. Following graduation, she attended one year of college at Buena Vista College before accepting a position with Farm Bureau.

On August 26, 1956, she was united in marriage to Allan Breidinger at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. Three sons were born to this union. Janice devoted her life to caring for her family while also helping Allan with the daily operations on the family farm.

Janice was an exceptional homemaker with a strong work ethic. She enjoyed sewing, tending her garden, and preserving the fruits of her labor through canning. Family and friends could often count on finding fresh homemade bread ready to enjoy in her kitchen.

She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and belonged to different card clubs in the area. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family. Janice was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church.

Janice passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at St. Luke Lutheran Home at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Jody; her brother, Merlyn; and her twin sister, Jane.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 70 years, Allan Breidinger of Spencer; three sons, Tim Breidinger of Colorado City, Colorado, Scott (Marcy) Breidinger of Greenville, Iowa, and Jay (Tami) Breidinger of Grant, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Jenna (Mitch) Ewald, Brock Breidinger, Paige Breidinger, and Olivia (Lucas) Erlendson; along with many other relatives and friends.
