With broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Keith Strohman who went to heaven far too soon.

Keith Dwayne Strohman was born on April 7, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Larry Lee and Mary Anna (Dickinson) Haffner. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1984. Following graduation Keith proudly served in the Iowa Army National Guard. Keith later married Amy Kendall on September 9, 2012, in their home.

He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. He spent many years working with concrete for DeLoss Construction. He started his second career at State Steel as a truck driver. He was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and was rarely a stranger for long. His easygoing nature and willingness to visit with others made him someone people enjoyed being around.

Keith enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved country and old rock music, tinkering with his old trucks, grilling, and spending time outdoors. He was known as the family’s self-proclaimed "Grill Master," and there was never a shortage of good food or conversation when Keith was around. He was also a devoted Packers fan.

Some of Keith's favorite memories came from traveling. He and Amy enjoyed a cruise to Alaska, and visiting the National Redwood Forest was especially meaningful to him, as the Redwoods had been number one on his bucket list. He also enjoyed trips to Mount Rainer, Glacier National Park, and their return home via Route 66.

Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman, a passion he shared with his father and brothers. An annual fishing trip to the Lake of the Woods in Minnesota, including time spent at Sweets Fishing, owned by his cousin, was a tradition he looked forward to. Those trips provided not only opportunities to fish, but also time together with family and the chance to make memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all else, Keith loved his family. His grandkids were his pride and joy and they often referred to him as the fun grandpa. If grandpa was around, they always had money! He cherished relaxing by the pool, sharing laughter, making memories, and simply being surrounded by his family. Some of his greatest happiness came from those ordinary moments with the people he loved most.

Keith was also known for being someone who could fix things. If something needed fixing, there was often a "Keith way" of getting it done. His willingness to work with his hands, figure things out, and help others was simply part of who he was.

Keith will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, his stories and conversations, his sense of humor, and his appreciation for the simple things in life. His unexpected passing leaves a tremendous void, but the memories he created with his family and friends will continue to be cherished for years to come.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Strohman; his children: Kayla (Skylaur) Konrady, Logan Hanson, Kyle Strohman, John (Lauren) Christopherson, and Vannessa Dominguez; his grandchildren: Zoey, Arya, Dax, Kai, Aubree, Aaliyah, Luca, Lucien and Freyja; his brothers: Jeff (Sheila) Strohman, James (Tracy) Strohman; his sisters, Sue Sauter and Mary Christopherson; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Mary; his sister, Deborah England; his brother, Jim Strohman; and his beloved dog, Jewels.

Keith's family invites all who knew and loved him to remember his life, share their favorite stories, and celebrate the memories they made together.
