Nancy Ann Drum, age 78, of Ruthven, Iowa (formerly of Wells, Minnesota), passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born on September 27, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Harold and Ruth (Workman) Lind. She graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in Montgomery, Minnesota. She then went on to attend St. Cloud State University. She later earned her cosmetology degree in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked as a beautician for many years, was a sounding board for Bob, and most importantly was a wife and a mother taking care of their family’s home.
On February 24, 1984, Nancy was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Drum at the United Methodist Church in Wells, Minnesota. Together, they built a beautiful life and a home they cherished on Lost Island Lake, where Nancy loved spending time with family and friends.
Nancy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ruthven and devoted much of her time to community involvement. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Wells, Minnesota, the Wells American Legion Auxiliary for 41 years, and the Lost Island Protective Association (LIPA).
Known for her creativity and kind heart, Nancy loved crafting, making seasonal decorations that she would display throughout their home. She enjoyed going to craft shows, celebrating the Fourth of July; and supporting her daughter and grandchildren in many of their activities. She especially enjoyed traveling with Bob and loved her many trips and experiences provided to them by Wells Concrete.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob Drum of Ruthven, Iowa; daughters Tammy (Kyle) Krieger of Terril, Iowa, Amy (Jay) Voorhees of Rosemount, Minnesota, and Bobbie Jo (Chris) Kubiacyzks of Portland, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Adrianna and Jonathon Krieger, Justin, Grace, and Matthew Voorhees, and Ava, Elle, and Ana Kubiacyzks; brother, Charlie (Sandra) Lind of New Prague, Minnesota; her beloved dog, Gabby Drum; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Lind; sister, Barbara Jongeling; and mother-and-father-in-law, Harry and Dorothy Drum.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Lost Island Protective Association (LIPA) in Nancy’s memory.
